2023 Re-Cap, Future Dates
Hello Motomarathon Enthusiasts,
With a lot of help from people working behind the scenes, the 2023 Motomarathon we held in Vermont this past October was a huge success. The High Life Ski Lodge ended up being a great host lodge thanks to the members who were there to support us. I'd like to take this opportunity to thank Chris Cooney and Linda Silbert from the High Life Ski Club. They were instrumental in hosting us and were extremely helpful throughout the week. The "House Mom", Chris Cooney, cooked, made coffee, cleaned, and was a huge help throughout the week. And as always, helping out behind the scenes, Rick Mickles, Rob Anderson, Don Cunningham, and our newest rider/volunteer, Bill Specht.
We ventured all over Vermont. We visited the Von Trapp Lodge, Bob Newhart's Inn, and crossed Lake Champlain multiple times by bridges and ferries. We ventured across New Hampshire and then into Maine for coffee and pastries. I cannot stress enough how the people who attended were amazing riders and a pleasure to spend almost an entire week with. We continue to draw knowledgeable, safe, and experienced long distance riders, continuing the tradition that is Motomarathon.
While Colorado was on the table for June 2024, due to scheduling conflicts with my new job, we were forced to delay it one year, to 2025. With that said, we are actively looking into Canada for 2026/2027, so if you have an interest, start working on your paperwork for the border crossings.
So, for 2024 we will be starting the end of June in northeast Pennsylvania at The Shawnee Inn & Golf Resort.
In October we were invited back by the High Life Ski Club in Vermont to hold another event at the lodge. There will be new routes and a few of the greatest hits from last year.
